Post Replacement quartz movement advice
Hi,
New to this forum so i'd appreciate any help and advice people can give.

I have a watch i like, but has a fairly rubish quartz movement in it, can any recomend a possible upgrade for it, or somewhere i could get a direct movement replacement? It's a Japanese SL28 date movement.

Many thanks,

Rich

Hi Rich, welcome to our Forum. You have a Chinese movement made by Sczhenzen(spl ). It is a very low quality movement but it will be difficult to obtain in a single piece. I can get the ligne size of the movement but you will have to measure the Hour and Minute pinions with a vernier. You will undoubtedly have to use dial stickers but you never know you might touch lucky with the replacement. Post again if you are not sure what to do, good luck

Terry

Hi,
Many thanks for the response, i thought it might have been fairly rubish, an upgrade would be a must then...! I'll need to borrow a pair of verniers from work (one of our engineers should have a decent pair) and measure them tomorrow evening and get back to you.
I really appreciate you taking the time to help!!

Thanks so much, must admit, i'm quite enjoying playing around with the watches, might look into some sort of horology courses, get some old movements to take apart.

So looks like (if i've measured it properly) deatils are:

Hour: 1.28mm
Min: 0.70mm

Post to hold the face on are at 23mins and 53mins.

Let me know if it sounds like i've got the right kind of measurements!
