One of my favourite hobbies is to find older tools either broken or need a litle tlc and give them a makeover. I managed to get a vintage swiss jaxa for not too much money. This old thing was encrusted in maybe 30 years of hardened grease and filth, so apart it came and thoroughly cleaned and degreased. The condition of the parts was good though not too much rust.

I gave all the moving parts a wipe of fresh automobile grease (should do the job) an re assembled. It is now working lovely and smooth, I just need to get the large bergeon case holder from Owen before testing as i don't want to ruin any casebacks... Lips Sealed

You don't see many of those double jaxas around infact, that looks quite awkward? You could take a hacksaw and cut off one half and make a really wide opening jaxa  Grin
